Meet this family. They are dear people. Each person a uniquely beautiful spirit. They know how to laugh, love and live fully. They are transparent, hospitable, fun and relaxing. There’s a peace that exudes from this family. They are love at first sight.
It’s not every day that I get to meet the kind of family that you see here. They are a blended family from a love that started in youth and rekindled in their adult years. It’s a beautiful story, really, and one that culminates in this beautiful family. I guess my romantic nature is drawn to love stories that have tremendous history in so little time. They warm the cockles of my heart. Thanks, Becksted Family, for sharing your love with me and anyone who ventures here.
I don’t post the names of the kiddos I shoot, mostly to protect them. I really believe that our responsibility as adults of children is to protect their childhoods: Keeping them young and innocent as long as humanly possible so that they can reap the benefits of childhood as long as possible. They depend on us. And we can deliver.
The other day I got to see this Beauty. Her life is a gift. We all get to receive the gift of life as long as we have breath to breathe. I loved watching her explore her piece of the world with her small, six-month-old body and hands, and how she would look around with a curious little mind and take in the small nuances of dusk. She has the potential to do great work in the years to come. For now, I want her to just BE the girl she is meant to be because, in life, when a person is their true self, their work in this world is full of grace.
Go be your best self today, Little One.
